Week 13.2: Ad Analysis

First off I want to say I found the two required blog post reading this week to be overwhelming but very helpful. I will be referring back to both of them over and over I am sure. Understanding how Facebook is changing and being realistic in the fact that free online advertising is dying is important. Also, how to overcome that and effectively advertise (especially when you are paying for it) is critical.

Advertising with Facebook
A really strong feature of Facebook advertising is being able to target your audience with demographic and behavior. This means getting your product or service in the view of those most likely to give patron to your business. The ad reporting tools Facebook offer is also a great feature. This can tell you if you actually understand your target market or if it needs refining. This can mean reevaluating who your target market actually is. Or it could help sort what materials and presentation reaches and engages the audience best. 
The fact that Facebook offers an array of formats, allows the company a lot of control and flexibility in creating their ad. I think the option of boosting posts is efficient. If you have already taken the time to create a thoughtful and well presented promoting post, it seems logical to boost it into an ad.
